 Middletown

Middletown is a township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, that is near Colts Neck and Hazlet Townships. The cities located within Middletown are Leonardo, Lincroft, Port Monmouth, North Middletown, Navesink, Fairview, and several unincorporated areas. If you are considering Middletown as your new home, CNN Money voted it 50th in 2006’s bets places to live.

Middletown, along with eight other municipalities in the area, is part of the New Jersey Bayshore Regional Strategic Plan, which is a concerted effort between the areas to rejuvenate the economy in the area. They are accomplishing this through support and renewal of downtown areas and the denser neighborhoods as well as Raritan Bay’s beautiful coast.

Middeltown Recreation and Entertainment

Middletown Township is right on the Atlantic coast, so you will have great access to plenty of fishing, swimming, canoeing, parasailing, and other popular water sports. You are also close to Tatum Park, one of New Jersey’s crown jewel natural areas. There are aver 250 acres of forested areas with many varieties of trees, natural meadows, miles of meandering trails, and even a playground for the kiddies. A must-see in the fall.

You are also near the Sunnyside Recreation Area, which houses an equestrian division. This program offers lessons and horseback riding experiences for all—in fact, their therapeutic division, which is reserved for those with disabilities, is very popular and highly rated.

Want an afternoon of gardens? Check out the Deep Cut Gardens, 54 acres of land that appeals to all home gardeners. This is like a zoo for domestic gardens, and will contain samples of natural and cultivated plants that one can see throughout the year. Deep Cut also features a large horticultural library, highly educated staff, and even a helpline for you to call with your gardening problems.

Middletown Real Estate

Like Colts Neck, Middletown contains some of the most upscale housing in the area, and prices run from around $600K to almost $8M. However, the area will prove to be well worth it, with the above-mentioned amenities, recreation, and more.

And if you are coming with a family, the public schools are some of the best around, and Middletown also offers two highly rated private schools. The educational opportunities don’t end there—remember that you are close to New York City’s cultural centers, and can attend operas, concerts, and Broadway musicals easily.

Remember that because this is an upscale neighborhood, you will need help from an experienced Middletown realtor who knows the area, the township, and the local homes. This kind of knowledge requires years of operation in the Middletown as well as north New Jersey area. Make sure you choose someone who is familiar with expensive homes in the Middletown  area, and who understands the particular needs of you and your family.
